इस प्रकार वेदवृक्ष की उपशाखाओं से उसकी उपशाखाएँ उत्पन्न हुईं। हे द्विजश्रेष्ठ! बाष्कल ने तीन और संहिताएँ रचीं। उनके शिष्य [जिन्होंने उन संहिताओं को पढ़ा] कल्याणी, गार्ग्य और कथजव थे। इस प्रकार संहिताओं की रचना करने वाले बहवृच कहलाए।॥25-26॥
In this way, the sub-branches of the tree of Vedas originated from its sub-branches. O best of the two! Bashkala composed three more Samhitas. His disciples [who read those Samhitas] were Kalayani, Gargya and Kathajava. Thus, those who composed the Samhitas were called Bahvricha.॥25-26॥
