उसे इस प्रकार कर्मकाण्ड से रहित तथा ब्राह्मण-धर्म के विरुद्ध आचरण करते देख, राजा पृषट के सेवकों ने रात्रि में उसे काली नामक बलि के लिए तैयार किया। किन्तु उस यज्ञ में एक परम योगी को उपस्थित देखकर महाकाली ने एक तीक्ष्ण तलवार लेकर उस क्रूर राजा के सेवक का गला काट दिया और उसके दरबारियों सहित उसका कड़वा रक्त पी लिया।
Seeing him thus devoid of rituals and behaving in a manner that was against the rites of a Brahmin, the servants of the king Prishat at night, having prepared him for the sacrificial animal of Kali, prepared him. But seeing a supreme Yogi present for the sacrifice, Mahakaali took a sharp sword and slit the throat of that cruel king's servant and drank his bitter blood along with his courtiers.
