सम्पूर्ण जगत् जलमय हो रहा था। अतः प्रजापति ब्रह्माजी ने पृथ्वी को जलमग्न मानकर उसे बाहर निकालने की इच्छा से दूसरा शरीर धारण किया। जैसे पिछले कल्प के आदि में उन्होंने मत्स्य, कूर्म आदि रूप धारण किए थे, वैसे ही इस वराह कल्प के आदि में वराह शरीर धारण करके वेदों के ज्ञान से युक्त तथा सबके अन्तर्यामी और अचल स्वरूप वाले वे परमात्मा प्रजापति ब्रह्माजी, जो पृथ्वी के पालनकर्ता हैं और अपने ही आश्रय में स्थित हैं, लोकलोक में स्थित सनकादि सिद्धेश्वरों द्वारा स्तुति किए जाने पर जल में प्रविष्ट हुए।
The entire world was becoming watery. Therefore, Prajapati Brahmaji assumed that the earth was under water and with the desire to bring it out, he assumed another body. Just as he had assumed the form of Matsya, Kurma etc. in the beginning of the previous Kalpa, similarly at the beginning of this Varaha Kalpa, he assumed the body of Varaha having the knowledge of Vedas and the inner soul of everyone and the unshakable form, that Supreme Soul Prajapati Brahmaji, who is the sustainer of the earth and is situated in his own shelter, entered the water being praised by the Sanakadi Siddheshwars situated in the world of people. 7-10॥
