परन्तु इस प्रकार शाप देने के पश्चात् उनके मन में बड़ा पश्चाताप हुआ। उनकी अंतरात्मा ने उन्हें शाप स्वीकार कराने के लिए भगवान की आराधना करने की प्रेरणा दी। इस प्रकार शाप के असफल होने के भय से पीड़ित भृगु ने तपस्या द्वारा भगवान विष्णु की आराधना की। 16 1/2॥
