वह रात्रि का प्राणी पुनः जोर से गर्जना करता हुआ नाना प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से वरुण के पुत्रों का संहार करने लगा, मानो कोई मेघ अपनी मूसलाधार वर्षा से वृक्षों को पीड़ित कर रहा हो ॥48॥
Roaring loudly, the night creature once again began to slay the sons of Varuna with various kinds of weapons, as if a cloud were tormenting the trees with its torrential rain. ॥ 48॥
