(उस समय अपनी प्रशंसा सुनकर) उनके यश को बढ़ाने वाले लक्ष्मण लज्जित हो रहे थे; परन्तु वीर श्री राम ने उन्हें बलपूर्वक खींचकर गोद में ले लिया और बड़े स्नेह से उनका माथा सूंघा। शस्त्रों के आघात से घायल हुए अपने प्रिय भाई लक्ष्मण को उन्होंने गोद में बिठा लिया और हृदय से लगाकर बड़े प्रेम से उनकी ओर बार-बार देखने लगे॥9-10॥
Lakshmana, the one who increased his fame, was feeling ashamed (on hearing his praises at that time); but the valiant Shri Ram forcefully pulled him and took him in his lap and smelled his forehead with great affection. He seated his dear brother Lakshmana, who was injured by the blows of weapons, in his lap and embraced him and started looking at him again and again with great affection.॥ 9-10॥
