तत्पश्चात् रघुकुलनन्दन श्रीमान् लक्ष्मण ने इन्द्र के वज्र के समान तीक्ष्ण, जलयुक्त, सुन्दर पंखयुक्त तथा चमकते हुए एक अन्य भाले द्वारा, जो कान तक खींचकर छोड़ा जाता था, युद्धभूमि में विचरते हुए इन्द्रजित के सारथि का सिर शीघ्रता से धड़ से अलग कर दिया। वह वज्र के समान बाण छूटते ही हथेली की ध्वनि के समान सीटी की ध्वनि करता हुआ आगे बढ़ा।
Thereafter, Raghukulnandan Shriman Lakshman, with another sharp, watery, beautiful feathered and shining spear which was like Indra's thunderbolt and which was released by drawing it till the ear, quickly severed the head of Indrajit's charioteer from his body while roaming in the battlefield. As soon as that thunderbolt-like arrow was released, it moved forward making a whistling sound resonating with the sound of the palm.
