अनृतं त्वय्यकरणे किं न बद्धस्त्वया विना॥ २८॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | शत्रुओं को संताप देने वाले रघुनंदन! यदि आप सत्यभाषणरूपी धर्म का पालन करते हैं, अर्थात् अपने पिता की आज्ञा मानकर उनके सत्य की रक्षारूपी धर्म का अनुष्ठान करते हैं, तो पिता ने ज्येष्ठ पुत्र को युवराज पद पर अभिषिक्त करने के विषय में जो सत्य कहा था, उसका पालन न करने से पिता को प्राप्त हुए असत्य के कारण वे आपसे अलग होकर मर गए। ऐसी स्थिति में क्या आप राजा द्वारा पूर्व में कहे गए अभिषेक विषयक सत्य वचनों से बँधे हुए नहीं थे? आप उस सत्य का पालन करने के लिए बँधे हुए नहीं थे (यदि आपने अपने पिता के पूर्व वचन का पालन करके युवराज पद पर अभिषिक्त हो लिया होता, तो न तो आपके पिता की मृत्यु होती और न सीताहरण जैसी कोई अप्रिय घटना घटित होती)। 28॥ | | | | Ragunandan, the one who torments the enemies!
