भूतानां स्थावराणां च जङ्गमानां च दर्शनम्।
यथास्ति न तथा धर्मस्तेन नास्तीति मे मति:॥ १५॥
अनुवाद
‘पशु आदि स्थावर प्राणी भी प्रत्यक्ष सुख का अनुभव करते हैं; परंतु धर्म उनके सुख का कारण नहीं है (क्योंकि न तो उनमें धर्म का पालन करने की शक्ति है और न धर्म पर उनका अधिकार है) अतः धर्म सुख का साधन नहीं है; ऐसा मेरा मत है॥15॥
‘Even immobile beings like animals and immobile beings experience happiness directly; but Dharma is not the cause of their happiness (because neither do they have the power to follow Dharma nor do they have any right over Dharma). Hence, Dharma is not the means of happiness; this is my opinion.॥ 15॥
