अन्य अनेक वीर एवं महामनस्वी राक्षस उनके द्वारा मारे गए। मेरे पुत्र इन्द्रजित ने, जिसका बल और पराक्रम सर्वत्र विख्यात है, वरदान प्राप्त सर्परूपी बाणों द्वारा दोनों भाइयों को बाँध लिया था। समस्त देवता और महाबली राक्षस भी उस भयंकर बन्धन को न खोल सके। यक्ष, गन्धर्व और नागों के लिए भी उन्हें उस बन्धन से मुक्त करना असम्भव था, फिर भी दोनों भाई राम और लक्ष्मण उस बन्धन से मुक्त हो गए। कौन जाने वह कौन-सा प्रभाव था, कैसी माया थी अथवा कौन-सी मन्त्रात्मक औषधि का प्रयोग था, जिसके प्रभाव से वे उस बन्धन से मुक्त हो गए।
Many other brave and great-minded demons were killed by them. My son Indrajit, whose strength and valour are renowned everywhere, had bound both the brothers with arrows in the form of serpents that had been blessed with blessings. Even all the gods and mighty demons could not open that terrible bond. It was impossible even for the Yakshas, Gandharvas and serpents to free them from that bondage, yet both the brothers Ram and Lakshman were freed from that bondage.
