त्रिषु चैतेषु यच्छ्रेष्ठं श्रुत्वा तन्नावबुध्यते।
राजा वा राजमात्रो वा व्यर्थं तस्य बहुश्रुतम्॥ १०॥
अनुवाद
धर्म, अर्थ और काम में से धर्म ही श्रेष्ठ है। इसलिए विशेष अवसरों पर अर्थ और काम की उपेक्षा करके धर्म का ही पालन करना चाहिए। यदि कोई राजा या राजपुरुष विश्वसनीय व्यक्तियों से सुनकर भी इसे न समझे अथवा समझकर भी इसे ग्रहण न करे, तो उसका अनेक शास्त्रों का अध्ययन व्यर्थ है॥ 10॥
Out of Dharma, Artha and Kama, Dharma is the best. Therefore, on special occasions, one should ignore Artha and Kama and follow Dharma. If a king or a royal man does not understand this even after hearing it from trustworthy people or does not accept it even after understanding it, then his study of many scriptures is futile.॥ 10॥
