सविस्फुलिङ्गज्वलनप्रकाशम्।
बाणं महेन्द्राशनितुल्यवेगं

अनुवाद
उस बाण का वेग वायु के समान था। उससे चिंगारियाँ निकलती थीं और धधकती आग की तरह प्रकाश फैल जाता था। क्रोधित रावण ने सुग्रीव को मारने के लिए इंद्र के वज्र के समान भयंकर वेग से उस बाण को छोड़ा।
The speed of that arrow was like that of the wind. It emitted sparks and spread light like a blazing fire. Ravana, enraged, shot that arrow with a speed as terrifying as Indra's thunderbolt to kill Sugreeva.
