अग्निचूर्णमिवाविद्धं भास्वराम्बुमहोरगम्।
सुरारिनिलयं घोरं पातालविषयं सदा॥ ११४॥
सागरं चाम्बरप्रख्यमम्बरं सागरोपमम्।
सागरं चाम्बरं चेति निर्विशेषमदृश्यत॥ ११५॥ |

| समुद्र में जल के कण अत्यन्त चमकीले दिखाई दे रहे थे। उन्हें देखकर ऐसा प्रतीत हो रहा था मानो समुद्र में अग्नि की चिंगारियाँ बिखर गई हों। (तारों के फैलने के कारण आकाश भी वैसा ही दिखाई दे रहा था।) समुद्र में बड़े-बड़े सर्प थे (राहु आदि सर्प जैसे जीव भी आकाश में दिखाई दे रहे थे)। समुद्र शत्रु दैत्यों और राक्षसों का निवास स्थान था (आकाश भी वैसा ही था; क्योंकि उनकी गति वहाँ भी दिखाई दे रही थी)। दोनों ही देखने में भयानक और पाताल के समान अथाह थे। इस प्रकार समुद्र आकाश के समान और आकाश समुद्र के समान दिखाई दे रहा था। समुद्र और आकाश में कोई भेद नहीं दिखाई दे रहा था। ॥114-115॥ |

| The particles of water in the sea appeared very bright. Looking at them it seemed as if sparks of fire had been scattered in the sea. (Due to the spread of stars the sky also appeared like that.) There were big serpents in the sea (Rahu and other snake-like creatures were also seen in the sky). The sea was the abode of the enemy demons and monsters (the sky was also like that; because their movement was seen there also). Both were terrifying to look at and as deep as the netherworld. Thus the sea appeared like the sky and the sky appeared like the sea. There was no difference visible between the sea and the sky. ॥114-115॥ |
