अपनी विशाल दाहिनी भुजा को, जिसकी त्वचा बाएँ पार्श्व में बार-बार बाणों के प्रहार से घिस गई थी, जो विशाल तलवार के समान दृढ़ और शक्तिशाली थी तथा जिसके द्वारा उन्होंने हजारों गौएँ दान की थीं, तकिया बनाकर दानशीलता आदि गुणों से संपन्न महाबाहु श्री रामजी ‘आज या तो मैं समुद्र को पार करूँगा या समुद्र मेरे द्वारा नष्ट हो जाएगा’ ऐसा निश्चय करके मौन होकर, मन, वाणी और शरीर को वश में करके, समुद्र को अनुकूल बनाने के उद्देश्य से विधिपूर्वक बैठकर उस तकिये पर सो गए।
