सुग्रीव! तुम हम चारों में पाँचवें भाई हो; क्योंकि प्रेमपूर्वक उपकार करने से ही मित्र बनता है (और मित्र तो अपना भाई ही होता है)। शत्रु का लक्षण अपकार करना है॥47॥
‘Sugreeva! You are the fifth brother of the four of us; because only by doing favours with love can one become a friend (and a friend is one's own brother). The sign of an enemy is to do harm.'॥ 47॥
