क्वचिद् बाष्पाभिसंरुद्धान् वर्षागमसमुत्सुकान्।
कुटजान् पश्य सौमित्रे पुष्पितान् गिरिसानुषु।
मम शोकाभिभूतस्य कामसंदीपनान् स्थितान्॥ १४॥ |

| सुमित्रानंदन! देखो, इस पर्वत की चोटियों पर खिले हुए कुटज के पुष्प कितने सुन्दर लग रहे हैं। कहीं वे पहली वर्षा के बाद भूमि से निकलती भाप से भरे हुए हैं, तो कहीं वर्षा के आगमन से अत्यंत उल्लासित (प्रफुल्लित) दिखाई दे रहे हैं। मैं अपने प्रियतम के वियोग के शोक से पीड़ित हूँ और ये कुटज के पुष्प मेरी प्रेमाग्नि को प्रज्वलित कर रहे हैं॥14॥ |
