'आप स्वयं दुःखी हैं; फिर अन्य किसको दुःखी मानकर शोक कर रहे हैं? स्वयं दुःखी होकर आप अन्य किस दुःखी पर दया करते हैं? इस शरीर में जल के बुलबुले के समान रहने वाला कौन-सा प्राणी किस प्राणी के लिए दुःखी है?॥3॥
‘You yourself are a sorrowful person; then thinking of whom else as sorrowful, are you mourning? Being yourself sorrowful, which other sorrowful person do you pity? Which being, living in this body like a bubble of water, is sorrowful for which being?॥ 3॥
