(आश्रम आने से पूर्व मार्ग में श्री राम और लक्ष्मण के बीच जो वार्तालाप हुआ था, वह पुनः विस्तारपूर्वक कहा जाता है।) सीता के कहने पर रघुकुल के पुत्र श्री राम ने आश्रम से आए हुए सुमित्रापुत्र लक्ष्मण से बड़े दुःख के साथ यह प्रश्न पूछा॥1॥
(The conversations between Shri Rama and Lakshmana on the way before coming to the Ashram are being narrated again in detail.) As per Sita's instructions, Shri Ram, the son of the Raghukul, asked this question with great sorrow to Sumitra's son Lakshmana, who had come to him from the Ashram.॥ 1॥
