पक्षियों में श्रेष्ठ जटायु का शरीर पर्वत शिखर के समान ऊँचा था और उसकी चोंच अत्यन्त तीक्ष्ण थी। वृक्ष पर बैठे हुए उसने रावण के प्रति ये शुभ वचन कहे-॥2॥
The body of the best of the birds, Jatayu, was as tall as a mountain peak and his beak was very sharp. While sitting on the tree, he spoke these auspicious words towards Ravana -॥2॥
