महाबली रावण पर्वतीय समुद्र के तट पर पहुँचकर उसकी सुन्दरता का आनंद लेने लगा। समुद्र का वह तट नाना प्रकार के फल-फूलों से युक्त सहस्रों वृक्षों से आच्छादित था। चारों ओर शुभ शीतल जल से भरे हुए तालाब और वेदियों से सुसज्जित विशाल आश्रम उस समुद्र-तट की शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे।
The mighty Ravana reached the shore of the mountainous sea and began to admire its beauty. That shore of the sea was covered with thousands of trees bearing various kinds of fruits and flowers. All around, there were ponds filled with auspicious cool water and huge ashrams adorned with altars, enhancing the beauty of that sea-bank. 11-12.
