जब अस्त्र-शस्त्र चलाने में निपुण भगवान् राम ने देखा कि यह राक्षस रक्त से लथपथ होकर भी अत्यन्त क्रोधित होकर मेरी ओर आ रहा है, तब उन्होंने तुरन्त ही अपने पैर दो-तीन कदम पीछे हटा लिए (क्योंकि इतने निकट से बाण चलाना सम्भव नहीं था)।॥23॥
When Lord Rama, who was adept at the art of using weapons, saw that this demon, despite being covered in blood, was coming towards him in a very angry mood, he immediately moved his feet two to three steps back (as it would not have been possible to shoot an arrow at such a close distance).॥23॥
