हृष्ट: पश्यति तस्यान्तं ब्राह्मणी करकादिव॥ ५॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | जो वस्तु प्राप्त न हुई हो, उसकी इच्छा को 'वासना' कहते हैं और जो वस्तु प्राप्त हो गई हो, उसे अधिकाधिक प्राप्त करने की इच्छा को 'लोभ' कहते हैं। जो मनुष्य काम या लोभ से प्रेरित होकर पाप करता है और उसके (विनाशकारी) परिणामों को नहीं समझता, प्रत्युत उस पाप को करने में सुख अनुभव करता है, वह अपने विनाश का परिणाम उसी प्रकार देखता है, जैसे ब्राह्मणी (रक्तपुच्छिका) नामक कीड़ा वर्षा के साथ गिरे हुए ओलों को खाकर अपना विनाश देखता है।*॥5॥ | | | | ‘The desire for something that has not been obtained is called ‘lust’ and the desire to obtain as many of the things that have been obtained as possible is called ‘greed’.
