इस प्रकार विलाप करते हुए भरत अत्यन्त दुःखी हो गए। उनके मुख पर पसीने की बूँदें झलकने लगीं। वे श्री रामचन्द्र के चरणों तक पहुँचने से पहले ही भूमि पर गिर पड़े।
