'बड़े-बड़े दाँतों वाले बलवान हाथी यहाँ से निकलकर इस पर्वत के किनारे-किनारे घूमते रहते हैं, और एक-दूसरे पर गर्जना करते हैं (अतः उन्हें वहाँ जाने से रोकने के लिए लक्ष्मण ने ये चिह्न बनाए होंगे)।॥11॥
'Vigorous elephants with large tusks come out from here and keep circling around the side of this mountain, roaring at each other (so Lakshmana must have made these symbols to prevent them from going there).॥ 11॥
