'भारत! यहाँ से ढाई योजन (10 कोस) की दूरी पर, निर्जन वन में चित्रकूट नामक पर्वत है, जहाँ के झरने और वन अत्यन्त सुन्दर हैं (प्रयाग से चित्रकूट की आधुनिक दूरी लगभग 28 कोस है)।॥10॥
'Bharata! At a distance of two and a half yojanas (10 kos)* from here, in a deserted forest, there is a mountain called Chitrakoot, where the waterfalls and forests are very beautiful (the modern distance of Chitrakoot from Prayag is about 28 kos).॥10॥
