शत्रुओं को पीड़ा देने वाले लक्ष्मण अपनी पीठ पर बाणों से भरे हुए दो तरकश बाँधे, दोनों हाथों की उँगलियों में दस्ताने पहने और विशाल धनुष खींचे हुए श्री रामजी के चारों ओर घूमते रहे और रात भर पहरा देते रहे॥ 23॥
'Laxmana, the tormentor of enemies, with two quivers full of arrows tied on his back, gloves on the fingers of both hands and a huge bow drawn, walked around Sri Rama and stood guard throughout the night.॥ 23॥
