न च सर्पन्ति सत्त्वानि व्याला न प्रचरन्ति च।
रामशोकाभिभूतं तन्निष्कूजमभवद् वनम्॥ ६॥ |

| वन के पशु भोजन के लिए कहीं नहीं जाते। यहाँ तक कि अजगर आदि सर्प भी जहाँ के तहाँ पड़े रहते हैं, आगे नहीं बढ़ते। श्रीराम के शोक से सारा वन मौन हो गया है। |
