क्वचित् स्तिमितगम्भीरां क्वचिद् वेगसमाकुलाम्।
क्वचिद् गम्भीरनिर्घोषां क्वचिद् भैरवनि:स्वनाम्॥ १७॥ |

| कहीं उनका जल शांत और गहरा है। कहीं वे बड़े वेग से फैले हुए हैं। कहीं उनके जल से मृदंग आदि के समान गम्भीर ध्वनि उत्पन्न होती है और कहीं वज्र आदि के समान भयंकर ध्वनि सुनाई देती है ॥17॥ |

| Somewhere their water is still and deep. Somewhere they are spread with great speed. At some places, a deep sound like that of Mridangam etc. appears from their water and at some places a terrible sound like that of thunderbolt etc. is heard. 17॥ |
