अस्मद्व्यपेक्षान् सौमित्रे निर्व्यपेक्षान् गृहेष्वपि।
वृक्षमूलेषु संसक्तान् पश्य लक्ष्मण साम्प्रतम्॥ १९॥
अनुवाद
'सुमित्रपुत्र लक्ष्मण! इन नगरवासियों को देखो, ये अभी वृक्षों की जड़ों से टिककर सो रहे हैं। ये केवल हमें ही चाहते हैं। ये अपने घरों के प्रति भी पूर्णतः उदासीन हो गए हैं।॥19॥
'Lakshman, son of Sumitra! Look at these city dwellers, they are sleeping right now, leaning against the roots of the trees. They only want us. They have become completely indifferent even towards their homes.॥ 19॥
