वहाँ अपने पूर्वजों की भूमि अवध के लोग शोक में डूबे खड़े थे। उन्हें देखकर भी श्रीराम को कोई शोक नहीं हुआ - उनके शरीर पर पीड़ा का कोई चिह्न नहीं दिखाई दिया। पिता की आज्ञा का पालन करने की इच्छा से वे मुस्कुराते हुए उन्हें देखने के लिए आगे बढ़े।
The people of Avadh, the land of their ancestors, were standing there in grief. Even after seeing them, Shri Ram himself was not affected by grief – no sign of pain appeared on his body. With the desire to duly obey his father's orders, he proceeded smilingly to see them.
