चित्ररथ नामक एक सारथी भी उत्तम सचिव है। वह बहुत समय से यहाँ राजपरिवार की सेवा कर रहा है। उसे बहुमूल्य रत्न, वस्त्र और धन देकर संतुष्ट करो। साथ ही, उसे अज आदि श्रेष्ठ पशु और एक हजार गौएँ देकर भी पूर्णतः संतुष्ट करो॥17 1/2॥
‘A charioteer named Chitrarath is also an excellent secretary. He has been serving the royal family here for a long time. Satisfy him by giving him precious gems, clothes and money. Also, satisfy him completely by offering him all the best animals like Aja etc. and one thousand cows.॥ 17 1/2॥
