काम और क्रोध से उत्पन्न होने वाले समस्त दोषों को सर्वथा त्याग दो और अप्रत्यक्ष वृत्ति (अर्थात गुप्तचरों द्वारा सत्य बातें ज्ञात करके) और प्रत्यक्ष ज्ञान (अर्थात दरबार में बोलने वाले लोगों का वृत्तांत प्रत्यक्ष देखकर और सुनकर) द्वारा न्यायपूर्वक यथार्थ विचार करने के लिए तत्पर रहो। 43॥
'Completely give up all the vices arising from lust and anger, and be prepared to think accurately in justice both through indirect instinct (i.e., by finding out the true facts through spies) and by direct knowledge (i.e., by directly seeing and hearing the accounts of the people who speak in the court).' 43॥
