समीक्षिता धर्मफलोदयेषु।
ये तत्र सर्वे स्युरसंशयं मे
भार्येव वश्याभिमता सपुत्रा॥ ५७॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | ‘इस जीव लोक में पूर्वकृत धर्म के फल की प्राप्ति के अवसर पर जो धर्म, अर्थ और काम तीनों देखे गए हैं, वे सब जहाँ धर्म है वहाँ अवश्य प्राप्त होते हैं - इसमें संशय नहीं है; जैसे पत्नी धर्म, अर्थ और काम का साधन है। पति के अधीन या अनुकूल होकर वह अतिथि सत्कार आदि धर्म के पालन में सहायक होती है। प्रियतमा होकर वह काम का साधन बनती है और पुत्र पाकर उत्तम लोक की प्राप्ति रूप अर्थ का साधन बनती है।॥ 57॥ | | | | ‘In this world of living beings, the three Dharma, Artha and Kama which have been seen on the occasions of attainment of the fruits of previously performed Dharma, all of them are definitely attained wherever there is Dharma - there is no doubt in this; just like a wife is the means of Dharma, Artha and Kama.
