स षट् चाष्टौ च वर्षाणि वत्स्यामि विजने वने।
आसेवमानो वन्यानि फलमूलैश्च वर्तयन्॥ ३१॥
अनुवाद
'अतः मैं चौदह वर्ष तक निर्जन वन में रहूँगा और वन में उपलब्ध छाल आदि खाकर केवल कंद-मूल और फल खाकर निर्वाह करूँगा।'
'Therefore I shall stay in the deserted forest for fourteen years and shall live on bark etc., which are available in the forest, and shall subsist only on roots and fruits.'
