पुरा देवासुरे युद्धे पित्रा ते मम राघव।
रक्षितेन वरौ दत्तौ सशल्येन महारणे॥ ३२॥
अनुवाद
'रघुनंदन! बहुत समय पहले की बात है, जब देवताओं और दानवों के युद्ध में तुम्हारे पिता शत्रुओं के बाणों से घायल हो गए थे। उस महायुद्ध में मैंने उनकी रक्षा की थी। इससे प्रसन्न होकर उन्होंने मुझे दो वरदान दिए थे।
'Raghunandan! It happened long ago, in the war between gods and demons, your father was pierced by the arrows of the enemies. I had protected him in that great war. Pleased with that, he had given me two boons.
