उस समय दयनीय अवस्था में पड़े हुए राजा दशरथ एक बार 'राम!' कहकर चुप हो गए (और आगे कुछ न बोल सके)। उनके नेत्र आँसुओं से भर गए, इसलिए वे न तो श्री राम की ओर देख सके और न उनसे बात कर सके॥3॥
At that time, King Dasharath, who was in a pitiable state, said 'Rama!' once and became silent (he could not speak further). His eyes were filled with tears, so he could neither look at Shri Ram nor talk to him.॥ 3॥
