तथा ह्यलर्कस्तेजस्वी ब्राह्मणे वेदपारगे।
याचमाने स्वके नेत्रे उद्धृत्याविमना ददौ॥ ५॥
अनुवाद
'इसी प्रकार, महाप्रतापी राजा अलर्क ने भी, बिना किसी पश्चाताप के, अपनी दोनों आंखें निकालकर, वेदों में पारंगत एक विद्वान ब्राह्मण के मांगने पर उसे दे दी थीं।
'Similarly, the illustrious King Alarka had, without any remorse, taken out his two eyes and given them to a learned Brahmin well versed in the Vedas when he requested for them.
