'इस संसार में कन्या का पिता, चाहे वह पृथ्वी पर इन्द्र के समान ही क्यों न हो, वर पक्ष के लोगों से प्रायः अपमान सहना पड़ता है, चाहे वे उसके समान हों या उससे निम्न स्तर के हों॥ 35॥
'In this world, the father of a daughter, even if he is equal to Indra on earth, often has to bear insult from the people of the groom's side, whether they are of equal or lower status than him.॥ 35॥
