जैसे तेज हवा के कारण समुद्र की लहरें, फेन और गर्जन के साथ उठती हैं, तथा हवा के थम जाने पर अचानक शांत और मौन हो जाती हैं, उसी प्रकार शोरगुल से भरी अयोध्या अब ध्वनिहीन प्रतीत हो रही थी।
Just as the sea's turbulent waves, raised with foam and roar by a strong wind, suddenly become calm and silent when the wind subsides, similarly the noisy Ayodhya now seemed to be devoid of any sound.
