यथा हि चोर: स तथा हि बुद्ध-
स्तथागतं नास्तिकमत्र विद्धि।
तस्माद्धि य: शक्यतम: प्रजानां
स नास्तिके नाभिमुखो बुध: स्यात्॥ ३४॥ |

| 'जिस प्रकार चोर दण्डनीय है, उसी प्रकार (वेद-विरोधी) बुद्ध (बौद्ध धर्म के समर्थक) भी दण्डनीय हैं। तथागत (नास्तिकविशेष) और नास्तिक (चार्वाक) को भी यहाँ एक ही श्रेणी में समझना चाहिए। अतः जिस नास्तिक को प्रजा पर उपकार करने के कारण राजा दण्ड दे सकता है, उसे चोर के समान दण्ड देना चाहिए; किन्तु विद्वान ब्राह्मण को अपने वश के बाहर के नास्तिक की ओर कभी प्रवृति नहीं करनी चाहिए - उससे वार्तालाप आरम्भ नहीं करना चाहिए। 34॥ |
