तस्य तद् वचनं श्रुत्वा दु:खितस्य विशेषत:।
उवाच राजन् पुत्रस्ते प्राप्तकालमिदं वच:॥ २१॥
विमृज्य नेत्रे पाणिभ्यां शोकजं बाष्पमुत्सृजन्।
कृपादीन् स तदा वीरान् सर्वानेव नराधिप:॥ २२॥ |

| राजन! अत्यन्त दुःखी हुए अश्वत्थामा के वचन सुनकर आपके पुत्र राजा दुर्योधन के नेत्रों से शोक के आँसू बहने लगे। उसने दोनों हाथों से अपने नेत्रों को पोंछकर कृपाचार्य सहित समस्त वीर योद्धाओं से ये समयोचित वचन कहे-॥ 21-22॥ |
