दक्ष के इतना कहने पर भी भगवान चन्द्रमा ने उनकी बात अनसुनी कर दी और केवल रोहिणी के साथ रहने लगे। यह देखकर अन्य स्त्रियाँ पुनः क्रोधित हो गईं और अपने पिता के पास जाकर उनके चरणों में सिर झुकाकर बोलीं - 'प्रभो! सोम हमारे साथ नहीं रहते। अतः कृपया हमें शरण दीजिए।'
