कर्णं पुरस्कृत्य विदुर्हि सर्वे
तवास्त्रमस्त्रैर्विनिपात्यमानम्।
यया धृत्या निहतं तामसास्त्रं
युगे युगे राक्षसाश्चापि घोरा:॥ ४४॥
दम्भोद्भवाश्चासुराश्चाहवेषु
तया धृत्या जहि कर्णं त्वमद्य। |

| कर्ण को आगे करके सब लोग यही सोच रहे हैं कि उसके अस्त्रों से तुम्हारा अस्त्र नष्ट हो रहा है। जिस धैर्य से तुमने प्रत्येक युग में भयंकर राक्षसों का, उनके मायावी तामस अस्त्र का तथा युद्धभूमि में दम्भोद्भव नामक दैत्यों का नाश किया है, उसी धैर्य से आज तुम कर्ण का भी वध करो। 44 1/2॥ |
