दान्तान् वेदव्रतस्नातान् स्नातानवभृथेषु च।
सहस्रानुचरान् सौरान् सहस्रं चाष्ट चापरान्॥ १६॥ |

| वे सब के सब संयमी, वेदों के अध्ययन में निपुण, यज्ञ स्नान से शुद्ध और सूर्यदेव के उपासक थे। उनकी संख्या एक हजार आठ थी और उनके साथ एक हजार सेवक थे॥16॥ |
