आहोस्विदन्ततो नष्टं श्राद्धं शूद्रीपताविव।
स एवमुक्त: प्रत्याह प्राञ्जलि: सृञ्जयस्तदा॥ ३॥ |

| अथवा कहीं ऐसा तो नहीं हुआ कि जैसे शूद्र जाति की स्त्री से सम्बन्ध रखने वाले ब्राह्मण को दिया गया श्राद्धदान व्यर्थ (निष्फल) हो जाता है, वैसे ही मैंने जो कुछ कहा है, वह सब अन्त में व्यर्थ हो गया।’ उनके ऐसा पूछने पर संजय ने हाथ जोड़कर उत्तर दिया -॥3॥ |
