खड्गमत्स्यं गदाग्राहं शूरायुधमहास्वनम्॥ २॥
प्राणापहारिणं रौद्रं वादित्रोत्क्रुष्टनादितम्।
योधानामसुखस्पर्शं दुर्धर्षमजयैषिणाम्॥ ३॥
तीर्णा: स्म दुस्तरं तात द्रोणानीकमहार्णवम्।
जलसंधबलेनाजौ पुरुषादैरिवावृतम्॥ ४॥ | | | | | | अनुवाद | | ‘पितामह! रथ, घोड़े और हाथियों से भरी हुई द्रोणाचार्य की सेना समुद्र के समान थी। बाण और भाले आदि अस्त्र लहरों के समान प्रतीत होते थे। तलवार मछली के समान और गदा जलयान के समान थी। योद्धाओं के शस्त्रों के प्रहार से उत्पन्न होने वाली तीव्र ध्वनि समुद्र की भयानक गर्जना थी। बाणों की ध्वनि और योद्धाओं की ललकार ने उस गर्जना को और भी तीव्र कर दिया था। उसका स्पर्श योद्धाओं के लिए अत्यंत पीड़ादायक था। जो विजय की इच्छा नहीं रखते, उनके लिए सेनाओं का वह भयानक समुद्र घातक और अजेय था। युद्धभूमि में खड़ी जलसंध की सेना ने राक्षसों के समान उसे घेर लिया था। सेनाओं के उस दुर्गम समुद्र को हमने पार कर लिया है॥ 2-4॥ | | | | ‘Father!
