भीष्म का धनुष कट गया था। उस स्थिति में अर्जुन द्वारा रक्षित शिखंडी ने दस बाणों से उन्हें और उनके सारथि को भी दस बाणों से घायल कर दिया। तत्पश्चात एक बाण से ध्वजा को काट डाला। तब शत्रुवीरों का संहार करने वाले गंगानंदन भीष्म ने दूसरा अत्यंत वेगशाली धनुष लेकर तीखे बाणों से अर्जुन को घायल करना आरम्भ कर दिया। यह देखकर अर्जुन ने उस धनुष को भी तीन तीखे बाणों से काट डाला। 23-25
Bhishma's bow was cut. In that condition, Shikhandi, protected by Arjuna, wounded him with ten arrows and his charioteer with ten arrows. After that, he cut down the flag with one arrow.
