संकल्पसिद्धं पुरुषमसंकल्पोऽधितिष्ठति।
ब्राह्मणस्य विशेषेण किञ्चान्यदपि मे शृणु॥ १७॥
अनुवाद
संकल्परहित अर्थात् कामनारहित पुरुष की अवस्था संकल्परूपी लक्ष्य को प्राप्त हुए पुरुष की अवस्था से भी ऊँची है; परन्तु ब्रह्मवेत्ता की अवस्था उससे भी अधिक विशेष है। इसके अतिरिक्त मैं तुमसे एक और बात कहता हूँ, सुनो॥17॥
The state of a person free from resolutions, that is, a person without desires, is higher than that of a person who has achieved the goal of resolution; but the state of a knower of Brahman is even more special than that. Apart from this, I will tell you one more thing, listen.॥ 17॥
