हे प्रिये! जैसे पक्षी बिना फल-फूल के वृक्ष को छोड़कर चले जाते हैं, वैसे ही भूत के सम्बन्धी, मित्र और पुत्र भी उसे चिता पर ही छोड़कर लौट जाते हैं॥17॥
O dear! Just as birds leave a tree without any fruit or flowers, similarly, the relatives, friends and sons of the ghost leave him on the funeral pyre and return. ॥ 17॥
