एतान् गुणान् कर्मकृतानवेक्ष्य
भावाभावौ वर्तमानावनित्यौ।
बलिर्हि राजा पारमविन्दमानो
नान्यत् कालात् कारणं तत्र मेने॥ २४॥ |

| ये वीरता, विद्या आदि गुण पूर्वकर्मों के अनुसार प्राप्त होते हैं और जीवों की वर्तमान गति और अवनति भी अनित्य है। यह सब सोचकर जब राजा बलि को कुछ समझ में नहीं आया, तब उन्होंने निश्चय किया कि इसमें काल (भाग्य) के अतिरिक्त और कोई कारण नहीं है॥ 24॥ |

| These qualities like valour, knowledge etc. are attained according to one's past deeds and the present progress and decline of living beings are also temporary. After thinking all this, when King Bali could not understand it, he decided that there is no other reason in this matter except time (fate).॥ 24॥ |
